Snow Bunny - Free Pattern

What's even cuter than a regular snowman? A bunny snowman! With a little pink nose, big snowy ears, and an adorable little scarf, this snow bunny is sure to please. Like this pattern? Check out my free no sew snowman pattern here!


Snow Bunny

Materials

  • Yarn (I used Loops & Threads Soft Classic Solid yarn)
  • Crochet hook (I used a 4.5mm hook)
  • Safety eyes
  • Tapestry needle
  • Stuffing
  • Stitch marker
  • Scissors

 

Abbreviations (US terms)

  • ch - chain
  • sc - single crochet
  • inc - increase
  • dec - decrease
  • hdc - half double crochet
  • dc - double crochet
  • tc - triple crochet
  • ss - slip stitch
  • FLO - front loops only
  • BLO - back loops only
  • mc - magic circle
  • (...) - repeat the part in parenthesis specified number of time
  • (#) - number of stitches after finishing the round

 

Finished Size

Approximately 5.25 inches tall, including the ears. May be different for everyone based on yarn thickness, hook size, and tension.

 

Notes

 This snowman bunny is worked from the top of the head to the bottom of the body.

Head and body

In white
1. 6 sc in mc (6)
2. Inc x6 (12)
3. (Sc, inc) x6 (18)
4. (2 sc, inc) x6 (24)
5. (3 sc, inc) x6 (30)
6-10. Sc around (30) (5 rounds total)
11. (3 sc, dec) x6 (24)
Embroider a pink nose over 1 stitch of round 8, insert eyes between rounds 7-8 about 5 stitches apart
12. (2 sc, dec) x6 (18)
Stuff the head
13. (2 sc, inc) x6 (24)
14. (3 sc, inc) x6 (30)
15-21. Sc around (30) (7 rounds total)
22. (3 sc, dec) x6 (24)
Start stuffing the body
23. (2 sc, dec) x6 (18)
24. (Sc, dec) x6 (12)
25. Dec x6 (6)
Fasten off, sew the hole closed



Ears (make 2)

In white
1. 6 sc in mc (6)
2. (Sc, inc) x3 (9)
3-7. Sc around (9) (5 rounds total)
8. (Sc, dec) x3 (6)
Fasten off, leave a tail for sewing. Do not stuff


Tail

In white
1. 6 sc in mc (6)
2. Sc around (6)
Fasten off, leave a tail for sewing. Do not stuff



Scarf

In green
Start with a tail for weaving in, ch 51, skip the first chain and sc down the chain (50)
Fasten off, weave in ends




Attaching Parts

Start by sewing the ears to the sides of the top of the head.


Next, sew the tail to the centre of the bum.


Finally, tie the scarf around the neck.
