Moose - Free Pattern

Image
You can't have Canadian animal patterns without a moose. Their big noses are the cutest part in my opinion! The tiny ears have to be a close second, though. The antlers can get a little tricky, especially for beginners and if you're not used to working with chains, but don't let that deter you! Check out my free beaver amigurumi pattern for another iconic Canadian animal! Ladybug - Free Pattern

Ladybugs are a huge help in the garden, and cute, too! This one might not eat your aphids, but you can still make your own little garden helper with this pattern. Consider looking up your local native ladybugs and seeing how many spots they have! There's plenty of different species out there. And have you ever seen a baby ladybug? Look it up, they'll blow your mind! For some more garden helpers, check out my free bumblebee pattern and free ant pattern ! Marmot - Free Pattern

Image
I based my marmot off the Vancouver Island marmot, but you can use this plushie pattern to make any kind of marmot you'd like! The Vancouver Island marmot is a super cute animal that is unfortunately critically endangered, so I'm hoping that this pattern will help spread the word about them, at least a little bit. Look them up when you take a break from crocheting, they're interesting little guys! For more Pacific Northwest native animals, try out my chestnut backed chickadee , or  harbour seal ! Pride Month Swan - Free Pattern

Image
June is pride month! As you may already know, swans have been known to have same sex relationships (about 20-25% of them, in fact!), so let's celebrate by making a crochet one! Same sex swan partners will adopt cygnets from other swans and raise them as their own. This stuffed animal has a rainbow scarf to go with it! This is an alternate version of my free duck plushie pattern here , which also has a free Canada goose version here ! Pride Month Swan Free Amigurumi Pattern Materials Yarn (I used Loops & Threads Soft Classic Solid yarn) Crochet hook (I used a 4.5mm hook) Safety eyes Tapestry needle Stuffing Stitch marker Scissors   Abbreviations (US terms) ch - chain sc - single crochet inc - increase dec - decrease hdc - half double crochet dc - double crochet tc - triple crochet ss - slip stitch FLO - front loops only BLO - back loops only mc - magic circle (...) - repeat the part in parenthesis specified number of time (#) - number of stitches after finishing the round  ...
