How to Add a Keychain to a Finished Amigurumi

How to add a keychain to a finished amigurumi toy

Adding keychain rings to your finished mini amigurumi might seem tricky at first, but it's quick and simple once you know what you're doing! There's many different methods to attaching a keychain, but this tutorial goes through the way I do it. If you have a different way that works for you, feel free to use it instead!

Tutorial

First, get your materials together. You'll need your amigurumi, an empty keychain ring (this is the one I use), a tapestry needle, and some yarn that's the same colour as the spot you want to add the keychain to.

Insert your threaded needle into a stitch near where you want to attach the keychain to, and pull the needle out through the stitch that you want the keychain ring on.

Put the needle through the bottom of the keychain's chain.

Then put the needle back into the other side of the stitch that you're attaching the keychain to. Pull the needle back out through the first side of the stitch.

Pass the needle through the bottom of the keychain's chain, just like you did before. Reinsert the needle into the stitch you're attaching the keychain to, and pull it out through the original spot you first inserted the needle into (the one that's a few stitches away).

Tie the two yarn ends together twice, then cut off the yarn and hide the ends inside the toy. Now you're done!
