Mini Skunk Keychain - Free Amigurumi Pattern

This quick and simple pattern makes it easy and accessible to make your own little skunk amigurumi! Skunk patterns often use a lot of colour changes which can make it hard for a beginner to pull off, so I wanted to make one that's a bit simpler while still keeping iconic pattern that makes them so adorable. This mini keychain will only require you to sew on the ears and tail.

Mini Skunk Free Amigurumi Pattern

Materials

• Yarn (I used Loops & Threads Soft Classic Solid yarn)
  
• Crochet hook (I used a 4.5mm hook)
  
• Safety eyes
• Tapestry needle
• Stuffing
• Stitch marker
• Scissors
• Keychain ring (optional) 

Abbreviations (US terms)

• ch - chain
• sc - single crochet
• inc - increase
• dec - decrease
• hdc - half double crochet
• dc - double crochet
• tc - triple crochet
• ss - slip stitch
• bob - bobble stitch (4 incomplete double crochets) 
• FLO - front loops only
• BLO - back loops only
• mc - magic circle
• (...) - repeat the part in parenthesis specified number of time
• (#) - number of stitches after finishing the round

 

Finished Size

About 2 inches long. May be different for everyone based on yarn thickness, hook size, and tension.

 

Pattern Instructions 

Body

In black
1. Ch 7, skip the first chain from the hook and do 5 sc, 3 sc in the last chain. Working on the other side of the chain, do 4 sc, inc. (14)
2. In white: Inc, 5 sc, 2 inc, 5 sc, inc (18)
3. In black: 2 inc, 5 sc, 3 inc, 7 sc, inc (24)
4-6. Sc around (24) (3 rounds total)
7, 3 sc, bob, 5 sc, bob, 6 sc, bob, 5 sc, bob, sc (24)
Embroider a white nose over 1 stitch between rounds 5-6. Insert safety eyes between rounds 5-6
8. (2 sc, dec) x6 (18)
9. (Sc, dec) x6 (12)
10. Dec x6 (6)
Fasten off, sew the hole closed

Tail

In black and [white]
1. 6 sc in mc (6)
2. (Sc, inc) x3 (9)
3-5. 3 sc, [in white: 3 sc], in black: 3 sc (9) (3 rounds total)

Ears (make 2)

In black
3 sc in mc (3)

Attaching Parts

Sew the ears over rounds 3-4, 1-2 stitches to the side of the eyes.

Sew the tail over round 2, opposite to the head. Add your keychain ring if you'd like, now that you're done. I have a tutorial here if you need help!
