Puppy and Kitty - Free Pattern

There's few things cuter than puppies and kittens, but together they're even cuter! The stuffed animal was inspired by the phrase "log dog" being stuck in my head for no real reason, so I felt like I had to make the log dog a plushie reality! This pattern uses the same base for both, with just a few details different. It works up quick, so you'll have your new buddy in no time! Puppy and Kitty Free Amigurumi Pattern

Materials

  • Yarn (I used Loops & Threads Soft Classic Solid yarn)
  • Crochet hook (I used a 4.5mm hook)
  • Safety eyes
  • Tapestry needle
  • Stuffing
  • Stitch marker
  • Scissors

 

Abbreviations (US terms)

  • ch - chain
  • sc - single crochet
  • inc - increase
  • dec - decrease
  • hdc - half double crochet
  • dc - double crochet
  • tc - triple crochet
  • ss - slip stitch
  • FLO - front loops only
  • BLO - back loops only
  • mc - magic circle
  • (...) - repeat the part in parenthesis specified number of time
  • (#) - number of stitches after finishing the round

 

Finished Size

2.5 inches long. May be different for everyone based on yarn thickness, hook size, and tension.

Body:

In main colour
1. 6 mc (6)
2. Inc x6 (12)
3. (Sc, inc)x6 (18)
4. (Sc 2, inc)x6 (24)
5-14. Sc around (24) (do 10 times)
15. (Sc 2, dec)x6 (18)
16. (Sc, dec)x6 (12)
17. Dec x6 (6)
Fasten off and close the hole

Cat ears

In main colour 
1. 4 mc (4)
2. (Sc, inc) x2 (6)
3. (Sc, inc) x3 (9)
Fasten off, leave a tail for sewing


Cat tail

In main colour 

Ch 9
Skip first chain, then 8 sc down the chain



Dog ears:

In secondary colour 

Chain 6
Skip the first chain, then dc, hdc, sc 2, ss
Fasten off, leave a tail for sewing



Dog tail:

In main colour 

Chain 4
Skip the first chain, then ss, sc 2
Fasten off, leave a tail for sewing 




Attaching Parts

Attach the ears to the face end, and the tail to the bum end.
