Summer Amigurumi Pattern Roundup

Summer is almost here, and these 10 crochet patterns are perfect for the occasion! Spend the hot days on the beach with the jellyfish, or cool off with an ice cream amigurumi. Most of these patterns are mostly free, with a couple of premium patterns included. There's something for everyone here!


Water Balloons

This pattern is so quick and easy, you can make a whole bunch of them in a short amount of time! If you already know how to make a double crochet, this pattern is super easy, too! The blanket yarn works like a sponge that fills with water for you to throw at your friends.

 

Sun

There's so much I love about this pattern! It's quick and easy, and it turns out so cute with the blush and little bow. I enjoyed making the rays around the edge of this little guy. This little palm sized pattern is a perfect companion for the hot days of summer! 

 

Watermelon

Watermelons are the perfect summer snack, so it only makes sense to include one in a summer roundup. This plush toy has the sweetest little face! This pattern has a unique construction to make the bottom of the rind, but the instructions are clear and easy to follow.

 

Fruit Jellyfish

This pattern bundle has instructions on how to make an apple, kiwi, orange, banana, and watermelon themed jelly. They combine sweet summery fruits and charming ocean animals. This pattern is quite beginner friendly, so even new crocheters can have a little buddy in no time.

It's easy to make if you have a handle on front/back loops and half double crochets. It's the perfect size for a summery keychain if that's your thing, too.

Ocean creatures always make me think of summer, so I had to include a few in my roundup. Dolphins and other whales are amazing for both their intelligence and cuteness. This tiny dolphin doesn't use any complicated techniques, so it's well suited to familiar beginners.

One of the many things I love about this pattern is how seamless it comes out. The instructions for making each of the arms were clear and easy to follow. The ochre sea star is an iconic part of summer here in the Pacific Northwest, so I had to make mine purple!

Everyone loves a no sew pattern! This mini fish stuffy is just so sweet! I especially love how the tail is done with this pattern. I can see this pattern working in all kinds of different colours, or a combination of colours if you want to get fancy!

 

Frog

Catching frogs is another iconic summer activity! I just love how round this frog is, and the little tiny limbs! This amphibian friend was really easy to make, so I can definitely see it being a good pattern for beginners. 

 

Flamingo

Summer makes me think of vacations, and vacations make me think of tropical animals. This flamingo has long, dangling legs with little round feet at the bottom. There's a goose version included as well, for another silly bird.
