Guppy Mermaid - Free Amigurumi Pattern

Guppies are a popular, colourful aquarium fish. To go along with my free koi mermaid pattern, I made a guppy version! This one has slightly longer hair with curls, and a different fin shape from the koi one. Guppies come in all kinds of colours, so you can use any colour combination to make your plush toy. Don't limit yourself to just blue and purple!

Frill around hips

It's easiest to do this before sewing, but can also be done after sewing the pieces together.

Reattach purple yarn to the front loops of round 15 of the body, and inc in each stitch.
Fasten off and weave in the ends

Attaching Parts

Start by sewing the hair around round 4 of the head. Make sure the short hairs make the bangs in front of the face. I recommend pinning it in place while you sew so that it doesn't move around.

Sew the opening of the head to the opening of the body.
Sew the tail fin to the end of the body. Make sure the flat face is facing in the same direction as the face.

Sew the arms to the space between the top of the shirt and the bottom of the head.
